Basilisk 2000 is a game by Kira.
In fiction, it is the spiritual successor to the unreleased Basilisk developed by a team led by David Bunch.
In the game files is a video titled vid.wmv. It appears to be a screen recording of a conversation on AOL Messenger between “AAnderson” and “GJason”, which are most likely Allen Anderson and Greg Jason from the dev team.
AAnderson: Hey I think something is wrong with David.
GJason: The texture guy? David Suz? He's great imo.
AAnderson: No, I mean David B.
AAnderson: You know he was the one who found that body downstairs.
GJason: That was like 10 years ago or smt.
AAnderson: It must still be bothering him, he's still obsessed with the incident.
GJason: Yeah I can tell too. Maybe it's just his way of coping tho?
AAnderson: I'm not just scared for him, he could be dangerous.
GJason: Like fire us?
AAnderson: I think he keeps a gun under his desk and it's just.
AAnderson: It's difficult, I dunno.
GJason: Lets just get this project done and then we can ask HR.
AAnderson: Yeah I guess. I might just be a little paranoid too.
GJason: I get it tho.
AAnderson: This chat is secure right?
GJason: I think/hope so X<
GJason: lol, enough foolin then let's make a game.
AAnderson: Ight, I gotchu.
In the game files is a password protected zip archive called ___.zip. It can be opened using the password SKINNED, which can be obtained from the door area in ARENA.
The only file in the archive is BASILISK - early build remove.smc. It can be opened as an image, or in the SNESy+ emulator from Basilisk.
As a ROM file, it must be placed next to the original Basilisk ROM in order to be loaded properly.
Upon loaded, you directly booted into a forest with a missing texture from Basilisk 2000 on the ground. In the area is an error sprite from Basilisk 2000, which has this to say:
The game closes after the last line of dialogue.
